Phillip Hammond (Hamman) Wikipedia states 'Phillip Hamman was called 'the savior of Greenbrier' when he and John Pryor warned settlers of a pending attack on Fort Donnally, of Greenbrier County, West VA in 1778.' Indians had a two day head start but Hamman and Pryor managed to arrive just minutes before the attack.
